We’re back again this week with a wonderful eclectic mix of bangers; from the great David Bowie to a band we’ve played constantly in Fergus & Geronimo to smooth 80s montage sounds of Moss Of Aura. 23 year old Lin Yu Chun is a contestant on the Taiwan singing competition Super Star Avenue (their American Idol basically). His performance of Whitney Houston’s classic “I Will Always Love You” is shockingly amazing. It’s basic the Susan Boyle story of 2010, gettin a lot of buzz and praise online. He is the new internet sensation.

New music from Prins Thomas. He and his buddy Lindstrøm have been cranking out great disco music from Norway for quite some time. This record is Prins Thomas’ first and it stays true to what he is been so well known for. Check out a track thanks to RCRD LBL.
One of our favorite albums of 2009 was the supergroup known as Monsters Of Folk, featuring Jim Yames, M. Ward, Conor Oberst and Mike Mogis. The band has recently released a video for “Dear God.”

Malcolm McLaren, impresario, solo artist and former manager of The Sex Pistols and The New York Dolls died today of mesothelioma. He was 64. We put together a video retrospective that includes some of his ground-breaking solo work as well as some Sex Pistols and NY Dolls moments caught on tape after the jump.
Tomorrow night Good Old War is playing at Binghamton University thanks to BUMP (Binghamton Underground Music Presents). I joined them this semester, and it has been a fun experience. Tomorrow night they are bringing together three very talented bands. The headlining act is Good Old War who are three piece band from Pennsylvania. The opening acts are local Binghamton band Driftwood and Thingumajigsaw are a saw/banjo duo who are from Norway.
